I have yet to play a full round here, but I wanted to share my experience taking lessons with Jesse, the pro. Iβve been playing golf for almost 15 years, and after just 3 lessons with Jesse, he has changed my game to a level I honestly never thought I could reach. Iβve never made contact with the ball as consistently and confidently as I do now. Heβs also helped tremendously with my putting. I feel much more confident standing over a putt and have a much better understanding of what Iβm doing. Jesse is an excellent instructor, and the results Iβve seen after only 3 lessons have been incredible. Iβm looking forward to taking plenty more lessons with him and continuing to improve. Highly recommend Jesse to anyone looking to improve their golf game!

Take a look at the photos I attached. Would you enjoy playing golf on a course like this? Unfortunately, I can't recommend this course. The ground is extremely hard, so if you take proper divots with your irons, expect significant impact on your wrists. Courses with conditions like this can easily lead to discomfort or even injury. The course design is also disappointing. It feels like the natural mountain terrain was simply left as-is rather than thoughtfully designed into an enjoyable layout. It's not particularly strategic or fun, and the tee boxes are in poor condition as well. The green fee is around $49. In my opinion, it's worth spending another $10 to play at a better-maintained course where you'll have a much more enjoyable experience and improve your game. That said, I do appreciate that the ownership appears to be making an effort. I noticed they are investing in expensive bunker sand and trying to maintain the property, which is encouraging. However, many areas of the turf are dead. As someone who owns a golf course in another state, I would strongly recommend removing some of the trees around the damaged turf. Without adequate sunlight and airflow, the grass will

First time playing. The golf course has a very nice layout. Some fairways are a little rough but the greens were in pretty good shape, a little firm. A challenging course, hitting blind shots leading to water. Careful, no need to hit driver every single hole, play smart. I definitely will return to play again.

It was only $38 for 18 holes with a cart so I really shouldn't have expected much, so keep that in mind when reading my criticisms. Many of the tee boxes were barren. The greens had tiny weeds that made putting like playing plinko. There were lots of dirt patches in the fairway and rough. So if you're looking for a high quality round, maybe look somewhere else, but if you're on a budget, this course is not terrible. Also, the staff were super friendly.

Occoneechee Golf Course is a great place to play the game. The course is well maintained, with average slope difficulty, and T-boxes that are situated for adjusting to individual players skill level. Amenities include, spacious driving range, large practice putting green, a practice chipping, sand bunker and additional putting practice green. The Club House is stocked with accessories for purchase including golf balls, tees, hats, towels, etc. The snack bar offers hot dogs, sandwiches, crunchy snacks and cold sodas or water. Lastly and most importantly, the management and staff are receptive and friendly with a goal to serve you and ensure you enjoy a great round of golf whether novice or scratch golfer, at Occoneechee Golf Course!
